A 12-episode film The Road to Nowhere headed the ranking of 2016 top series for two audiences, 14-49 (50+) and 18-54 (50+). Its average viewing share for these audiences amounted to 16 and 17 per cent respectively.
Furthermore, The Road to Nowhere became the best product for men among top series of the year, having attracted 29 percent of male audience to the screens. Each episode of the film on air of Ukraina TV channel was watched on average by more than 1 million 240 thousand viewers aged 4+ over the whole Ukraine.
Synopsis. The everyday life of Marina Burtseva from a provincial town of Rybatsky is not much different from that of any other ordinary girl living in an out-of-the-way place in the Soviet Union. Her father is unable to resist the blows of fate dealt first by his wife’s death and then by job loss, so he takes to drinking due to the lack of prospects and pointlessness of his own existence. When a chance emerges to earn money on his own daughter, he does not stop to think and “sells” her to a bigger city to work there. However, Marina has got a strong spirit and does not give up. In her life, she faces a lot of challenges. Sold away by her father, deceived by her boyfriend and betrayed by her friends, she has lost faith in people around her. Will she manage to keep living and fighting for her future? Will she be able to forgive and love again? How many trials can a person stand and what is the price of happiness?
